help! YDL booting error

Hi guys, I successfully installed YDL on my ps3 about a month ago. It was working fine. (I got everything to work at this stage, i.e., VLC, wi-fi etc..)

I was away from home for a couple of weeks on a trip overseas, and to my surprise, when i got back, my YDL wont boot up anymore. sad

I am not familiar with linux systems at all, but what i can see is that when it's loading those things at the start of the linux program (where the yellow penguins are still present), everything said "failed", and instead of a long list of things that used to load (1 month ago), there are only 3 lines that were being loaded and all of which said "failed".

Somehow it still comes to the login menu (where i normally type "root" and associated "password" and now it doesnt work), all the characters are not displaying properly (i.e., no english characters are displayed at all).

Does any1 know how i can overcome this problem?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: help! YDL booting error

Its possible that the main configuration file is gone away.
Are you still able to edit your linux? i mean in your gnome/kde or simply from a CMD.
This has happened to me with Gentoo when deepscan didn't work and broke my system.
What i did?
- i reinstalled, it was too hard to set all those settings again.

Re: help! YDL booting error

For most, it would seem best to simply reinstall. If there are important files, and you can use the prompt, I suggest copying them to an external medium.

I can't tell; are there specific instructions that new individuals follow when entering?
Actually, that couldn't work; they don't follow or read any directions given; it must be instinctive.
