ok all. I just got my copy of YDL 5 installed on my ps3. I am tring to upgrade the kernel using teresofts website http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/suppo … rnet.shtml
this is what it tells me to do:
At the command prompt run the following commands:
su - [ENTER]
cd /path/to/CDorUSBkey/ [ENTER]
rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.23-9.ydl5.1.ppc64.rpm [ENTER]
The path to the CD is usually /media/cdrom and the USB key /media/{Name of your usb key}
the problim is when I do cd /path/to/CDorUSBkey/ [ENTER] I cant find my cdrom. it keeps telling me no directory. i have tried cd /media/cdrom and also cd /dev/cdrom.
how do I find the directorys for my cdrom or mem stick?

Are you able to mount any other disks? If not, the driver may be install incorrectly.

To be honost I really have no idea if I can mount anything else. I really dont know how. This is the first time that I have used linux so this is really a new learning curve. after I got 5.0 instaled I was going to update it to 5.1 so I had wifi suport but got so upset I havent toched it since last night. U think you think that you can give me some hints to see if I can mount another cd?
